Carpet Diem
< back
“The carpet lines we carry are designed mostly in New
York by artisans but are usually made by weavers in Nepal,
Turkey, Afghanistan, or China,” says Timothy. “The
designers are the source of the uniqueness of the carpets.
Each design is one-of-a-kind unless someone requests a different
color field.” He also carries antique carpets and rugs
from Iran, Turkey, Morocco, and India.
Among the textiles Mia carries are woven, hand-blocked, or
screen-printed lines from companies such as Tyler Graphics,
Galbraith & Paul, and John Robshaw. Lamps from Powell & Bonnell,
Marian Jamieson, and Objet Insolite, a French company, illuminate
their own exquisite finishes.
The pair attribute their success to “finding and generating
advances in design.” With this enterprising spirit, along
with an impressive selection, they bring the world’s
artisanal market to Washington, D.C. |
